Evaluation of Young People's Participatory Theatre Programme
2006 – 2009
The Young People's Participatory Theatre programme was a three-year DCMS funded initiative to develop youth and participatory theatre. It created opportunities for young people aged 11‐ 25 years to participate in theatre related activities. The evaluation included two strands of the programme: "Pilot Projects" and "Youth Circus".
Pilot Projects evaluation & training
The evaluation supported the ten pilot projects to develop their confidence, skills and capacity to deliver self evaluations, through 1:2:1 coaching, group training, planning evaluation, advice and support to write self-evaluations and present learning at the conference.
Youth Circus evaluation
The evaluation assessed the effectiveness of the delivery of the Youth Circus strand of the programme, the impact on the sector, including whether it improved capacity, its reach across the UK and its legacy. This was a retrospective evaluation and used surveying, interviewing and observation.
