WELLS & MENDIP MUSEUM
Search & Learn Project - HLF Bid
2018 - 2019
Developing a National Lottery Heritage Fund application. I was commissioned to help the museum to re-submit an application, shortly after the new funding programme was announced. My brief was to develop strong community partnerships that responded to Wells' communities, consulting widely and identifying which aspects of the collection were most responsive to each group's interests. The final bid included new activities and partnerships, training and resource development and had a strong focus on mental health and volunteers. In addition, the project includes updating two galleries that tell the social story of Wells, a new co-curated display space to tell community history, opening of the Balch study for the first time to the public and a programme of off-site outreach work.
